freeing the street trees

During my early morning walk, I became aware of all the street trees, held captive by those rubber things they put on young trees.

These trees are now 9 years old, and they seem a bit stunted. I took a cutting from this willow when it was first planted, and mine is three times the size of this one.

So I went back out with clippers, accompanied by my cat Tinkerbelle.

And freed about 50 trees along the street.

I am sure they are much happier now!
