It's a jungle in there!

The jungle plant in our bathroom has reached the ceiling. I love having this plant in there, you have to duck under it now and then, it's like being in a jungle. The leaves of this plant are strong, they push the door closed when you enter or leave. Roots hang down looking for a hold onto something. I've no idea what this is called, but it's slowly taking over the whole room!
Annie in Austin has identified this! The latin name suits it perfectly: Monstera deliciosa, delicious monster! Otherwise known as split-leaved philodendron. Thankies, Annie!

Take a look at more plants and gardens on Green Thumb Sunday.

Hello Salix - maybe it could be this Split-leaf Philodendron? Whatever it's called, I'm impressed!

I'm impressed too! In the children's section of the Garfield Park Conservatory, they've used Monstera Deliciosa rendered as a green sculpture for the children to play on. A great choice for them, and for you too. What a monster!

It's beautiful! I wish I could grow indoor plants but our cats would tear them to shreds lol :)

I have two big rainforest-type plants that appear to be taking over my flat in size and character, a bit like your monster. One of them is fond of adjusting his leaves noisily of an evening. I might post a picture.
