Cerinthe
Cerinthe has decided to grow in my vegetable garden, next to my thyme. I don't know why I didn't pull it out when it was a wee baby plant, I knew it was a cerinthe, and not a vegetable. But I tend to leave some plants where they decide to grow. I love the color combination of the two together. And this cerinthe is looking very spectacular, so I'm happy I let it be.

Wow, I have never seen a cerinthe flower and I love the blue-pink shading!!!
These are really spectacular indeed. I bought some cerinthe flower seeds from Renee's Garden-have to try them sometime, but the new puppy has made planting seeds difficult-as he goes and digs up anything newly planted...
It couldn't be prettier if you'd planned it! I love the combination too.
That is an interesting plant. I am glad you left it so we could see it.
Very unusual and lovely flowers with the pink turning to blue. Looks rather like hops or shrimp plant but I see that they are individual flowers clustered in a pendant form rather than being interlocked.
That cerinthe IS spectacular! I had some last year and I saved seeds but was expecting some volunteers this year. Alas... nothing. And seeing how beautiful yours are makes me miss mine. :)
I've never heard of that Cerinthe before nor have I seen it, but it sure looks gorgeous! Especially in the pic with the blooming thyme! Carol xox
I just HAVE to have this Cerinthe. That is gorgeous! I knew Kim (blackswamp_girl) had had some, which is where I first learned of it. Off on a quest to find it now.........
