Rosebuds and Roses

Rosebuds of William Morris and Celestial. The Celestial buds are lovely, I think, with all the extra frills of leaves.

The first roses have opened in our chilly early summer days. They should be bigger blooms, but the weather has been so cold, they are coming out a bit smaller than usual. Hopefully later in the summer, they will put out thier normal sized flowers.

White de Meaux. White?? They look pink to me... I kept thinking the buds start out pink, and soon the flowers will be white, but they don't look to be changing color. Below is an image of White de Meaux from the catalogue. I thought they looked like little faerie ballerinas. I really want this type of flower, it's a bit dissapointing they don't look anything like the picture.

The"real" White de Meaux pic taken from the David Austin calatogue.
...I'm still hoping.... .. maybe when they open....

Fingers crossed they grow like that in your garden. They look very pink though.
I assume david austin has crossed a pink and white rose, but yours is being expressed as the pink!
